Cahir Healy won't make his competitive return to action for the Laois footballers this weekend.
Having switched intercounty codes from hurling to football for the 2019 season, the Portlaoise clubman was expected to be part of John Sugrue's defence for Saturday night's national league Division Three opener against Down in Newry.
However, according to The Irish Independent, Healy has suffered medial knee ligament damage and will therefore not be available to the O'Moore County.
