McGeary cruciate fears allayed

Donegal's Eoghan Ban Gallagher tackles Kieran McGeary of Tyrone

Tyrone boss Mickey Harte received a boost last night after scan results showed Kieran McGeary’s cruciate knee ligament to be intact.

There had been fears that the former All-Ireland U21 winning captain could have been set to miss the bulk of next season after coming off injured during Pomeroy’s relegation loss to Aghyaran.

However, the Irish Daily Star reports today that McGeary is only facing two months on the sidelines with torn medial ligaments.

It rules him out for the Red Hands’ entire Dr McKenna Cup campaign and also likely the start of the Division 1 league campaign which begins against Kerry at end of January.
