It was a massive evening in the senior football championship with two vital Phase Two Super 8 contests going down for decision.

All eyes were on Healy Park at 7pm when Mickey Harte's Tyrone welcomed defending All-Ireland champions Dublin to town for what promised to be a fascinating duel. Both teams won their opening assignments last weekend, so something would have to give in Omagh tonight...

Prior to that, championship survival was on the line at Dr Hyde Park, where Roscommon and Ulster champions Donegal did battle at 5pm. The winners would project themselves right back into the semi-final equation, so another great game was in prospect as the new-look quarter-final format gathered pace.
