Roscommon manager Kevin McStay believes that they can make an impact on the Super 8s.

The Rossies booked their place in the new look quarterfinals following a win over Armagh that has been described by many as the game of the year so far.

This Saturday, they take on Tyrone in the opening round of the Super 8s and are in a group alongside Dublin and Donegal also.

On paper, it will be a tough ask for the Rossies to come through and book their place in the semi-final, but McStay told the Westmeath Independent that they have the players to cause a surprise or two.

"I don't think any team is going to write us off, they'll see us as dangerous opposition. All the teams will expect to beat us of course, but they'll be saying, 'Jaysus, keep an eye on them lads, you wouldn't want them to cut loose."

Roscommon face Tyrone at Croke Park in the first of a double header. Throw in time is at 5pm.
