Declan Bonner admits Donegal could have done with a stiffer test from Down in yesterday's Ulster SFC semi-final.

Despite losing Neil McGee to an early red card, the Tir Chonaill men won with surprising ease to set up a final showdown with Fermanagh on June 24.

"We got scores on the board and the threat was coming from all over the park," the Donegal manager said.

"The lads started playing with that bit of freedom. You'd have to say Down didn't put the challenge to us. From our point of view, we can only look after ourselves and beat what is put in front of us.

"You have to go out and do a professional job and I thought we did adapt and to have 10 different scorers was very pleasing."

The 1992 All-Ireland winning forward added: "It's an Ulster semi-final, there is nothing handed out so we will just ready for the match in two weeks' time and the challenge that Fermanagh is going to bring."
