Derry defender Brendan Rogers is adamant that they don't see themselves as underdogs for Sunday's Ulster SFC quarterfinal against Donegal.

The sides meet at Celtic Park this weekend and Donegal are the bookies favourites to advance to the semi final. An impressive opening round win over Cavan, plus the fact that Derry will be plying their trade in Division Four next year are two of the reasons for many tipping the Tir Chonaill men to win this one.

One man to disagree with that is Rogers who is confident that Derry can match the majority of sides in the country during the championship.

"We don't see ourselves as underdogs," said Rogers. "We are as capable as anybody else in Ireland of getting a result on championship day.

"The Ulster campaign is very much a level playing field, even at the worst of times. By no means are we a bad team, we have had unfortunate results which didn't go our way.

"Although we haven't had a pile of success, we have never been that far away at championship level so we definitely have the belief that we can win this year."
