Fermanagh's Paul McCusker

Fermanagh face a tough three weeks as they aim to continue their push for promotion from NFL 3.

Those are the sentiments of their wing forward Paul McCusker who stressed to the Fermanagh Herald that the next few weeks could define their season as a whole.

The Erne County are currently joint top of the division alongside Armagh, but they have three tough games remaining in the campaign starting with Sunday's clash against Westmeath.

A defeat here would see Fermanagh drop to third or possibly fourth in the table with the Midlanders leap frogging them into second place.

McCusker feels that the side are in a good place heading into the last three games, which he stressed will stand to the team if they achieve the right results.

"We've three big games coming up, the sort of games you want to be playing in, and we'll be looking to Westmeath and get two points and push on from there," said McCusker.

"Mullingar is always a tough place to go to. They have a few big names like John Heslin and we're going to have to try and nulify them some way and impose our own game on them.

"We haven't really been putting teams away, so to speak. Teams will always get their purple patch and in a few games we have had teams at arms length and let them get back into it and it's made for a tense enough finish where we should have been a bit more comfortable."
