Carlow midfielder Brendan Murphy believes that there is a unity in the squad that may not have been there in the past.

Murphy attributed their unbeaten run in the NFL 4 campaign so far to the fact that there is a good bond between the players in the squad.

Speaking to the Carlow Nationalist, the talented midfielder stressed that they are more like a club team in that respect.

"There is a good buzz there," stated Murphy. "It is a club atmosphere. Lads are working hard for each other. For the second half (against Waterford), we were a bit drained but when you are in control like that you have to see out the game.

"This year is coming from the positives of last year. Steve (Poacher) and Turlough (O'Brien) are doing a lot of good work. It is easy to go training. Everyone is feeding off each other."
