Corofin set to appeal Farragher red card

Corofin's Martin Farragher leaves the field after being red carded in the opening minute against Moorefield

Corofin are expected to appeal Martin Farragher's controversial red card in yesterday's All-Ireland club SFC semi-final.

The full forward was harshly sent off in the second minute by Tipperary referee Derek O'Mahoney after his knee appeared to make contact with his Moorefield marker Liam Healy.

"They are big calls and it is disappointing to get them wrong," Corofin manager Kevin O'Brien told the Irish Independent.

"I feel sorry for Martin, he is a fella who has a lot of work put in. He was injured last year and came back."

The Galway champions will be confident of having Farragher available for the All-Ireland final against the winners of next Saturday's second semi-final between Nemo Rangers and Slaughtneil on St. Patrick's Day.
