Round Three of the national football league commenced this evening, with three matches taking place.

All-Ireland champions Dublin were bidding to extend their 100% record in Division One when they entertained Donegal in a superb contest at Croke Park.

In Division Four, Carlow and Laois also carried perfect records into their home meetings with Leitrim and Waterford respectively.

Following torrential rainfall, Breffni Park failed a late pitch inspection which meant Cavan's Division Two clash with Meath was postponed and provisionally re-fixed for tomorrow afternoon.
