We've often heard of situations where a father and his son(s) line out together for their local club, but what about at inter-county level?

Yesterday, Wicklow legend Jonathan 'Bosco' O'Neill made his inter-county return at the ripe old age of 43 and produced a 'man of the match' performance, scoring 1-6, to help his county to a 3-14 to 3-11 victory over Louth in the Kehoe Cup at Darver.

The Garden County veteran was joined in the side by his teenage son Jonathan Jnr who came on as a substitute in the second-half at the Louth Centre of Excellence.

The father and son combination saw action together for their club Glenealy last season as they claimed the county SHC title before reaching the Leinster club IHC final.

'Bosco' decided to call time on his Wicklow career after 23 years in 2015, however, he is back for more and could collect his sixth Kehoe Cup medal later this month.
