St Loman's manager Luke Dempsey knows a thing or two about Sunday's Leinster club SFC semi-final opponents Simonstown Gaels and adds that his charges will have to be at their best to reach the decider.

Dempsey is one of the most experienced managers on the club and county circuit and is well known for being meticulous in his preparation for games.

The former Westmeath, Longford and Carlow manager believes that the performance they produced in the quarterfinal against Mullinalaghta won't be good enough to win on Sunday.

"We won't get away again with a lot of the display in the opening three quarters against Mullinalaghta," Dempsey told the Westmeath Examiner. 

He added: "I know a good bit about Simonstown. They are a very experienced, athletic, tall, strong, physical team with great pace - very different from Mullinalaghta.

"They are very strong in the middle with Shane O'Rourke and James Kilcullen who used to play for both Mayo and Sligo. He is a huge man. They have Seamus Kenny, Mark McCabe, Podge McKeever and Sean Tobin, all Meath men.

"They have a physically strong full back and centre half back who are attack conscious. They won the Meath semi-final and final well, and they hammered Starlights from Wexford in the quarterfinal, so they are a team in a great vein of form. We really are up against it."
