Do we need Refs. I mean bad ones and there seems to be plenty of them about.
Ultimately the game came down to a most dramatic conclusion. A Brislane point approaching the hour mark put Toome' two-up and that seemed to be the clincher. Sarsfields now needed a goal and they hadn't threatened one all day. But two points is a treacherous advantage as Toome' would discover deep into added time. The controversy that ensued actually centred on two refereeing decisions. First Kevin O'Gorman was given a free out when on his knees and seeming to over-carry possession. Play switched to the Sars' attack where Denis Maher took possession in front of goal and was promptly surrounded by a phalanx of Toome' defenders. Crowded out and nowhere to go the forward seemed to be out of options but somehow was awarded a free. Up stepped Pa Bourke to lash home a stunning winner. A final passage of play saw Padraic Maher bring out a Paddy O'Brien side line 'cut' and the clearance signalled the end.
It's not how we like games to end; it's always better to have a clear cut winner where the referee isn't the centre of debate. Was it a free? Or would it have been given if Sarsfields were leading? I doubt it. Still there's plenty of precedents ranging from that Shefflin free in the '09 All Ireland to the Waterford free that drew the Munster final last July and here's one for Toomevara if they're inclined to complain over much: remember a few years back and that late and dubious decision that gave them victory over Mullinahone.

Good luck to Clanoultey to day I say that because Thurles dont deserve a Co Title they are such an under preforming team. It looks like management failure Just look at them against Toome Tommy Dunne was only involved with them for a few months and look at the way he got an aging team going (no wonder hes the hot tip for new managers job) Thurles have such an area of under age talent over recent years and all come to very little true they have 4 Co players if they were managed good they should win the Club Title

Referee's watch from 1887 to be given to Toomevara 07 December 2010
To mark the centenary of Toomevara's first senior hurling title, the Tipperary club will be presented with the watch worn by the referee in the first All-Ireland SHC final.
In 1910 Toomevara won its first North Tipperary Senior hurling title and in doing so it proved to be the start of a wonderful period in the history of the club. To celebrate that event the family relatives of those players will be made a presentation by the Toomevara GAA club on Saturday December 11 2010 at 3pm in the GAA Complex in Toomevara.
Also in attendance will be Sam Melbourne who is well known for a great collection of GAA items and memorabilia. He will present the club with the watch and whistle used by Paddy White who refereed the first All Ireland hurling final. It was the 1887 final but it was not played until April 1 1888.
Although resident in Birr where the game was played, White was a native of Toomevara but was seen as a fair and neutral referee between Tipperary representatives, Thurles and Galway representatives, Meelick.

eireog 2-24 kickhams 0-14...eireog good but kickhams are rubbish
golden 3-9 cashel 1-9...alot of bunching, gr8 start for golden.
eireog and golden on top with 2 wins each, both at this stage look like qualifying to semis possibly in 1st and 2nd.... cashel have 1 win and 1 loss, signs of improvement, ryan dwyer stil a big loss..... clonoulty and cappa have a game lost each and there match was cancelled to a later date, youd have to expect clonoulty to qualify to semis and grow stronger... kickhams 2 bad losses, look like finishing bottom, unsure of best team still....

mid championship: this comp is divided in 2 groups...
BIG NEWS is two losses in a row for the mighty thurles sars! beaten by bitter rivals hollycross and drom/inch, real chance they could be eliminated...other results have been scattered with wins and losses for the majority of teams in the competition
