What a great group of lads. Well done on your all ireland win. Super football and a joy to watch. You made my day. Heard man of the match no.14 Quinlivan being interveiwed, was it my hearing or is there a touch of a northern accent? Enjoy your success lads.

Thanks Sammy, so it only Tipp hurling you have an objection to then ;) We are absolutely thrilled. I have a big hole in my pocket after paying out 160 quid over the past forthnight to head to the two finals but to see the young lads win made it all worthwhile.

I'll never forget the 93, 94, 98 and in particular 2002 munster senior football finals that we couldn't convert into titles.

Delighted for Tip, i thought they showed tremendous character to come back from the brink, they are the story of the year in my book after all their exploits. Well done.

I don't think there's any northern connection: his father is former Tipp and Waterford Utd goalkeeper, Martin, and his mother is from Oola, co Limerick.

Well done lads. Great character and nerves of stell. Great point taking. What a great opening goal. To travel that far and then cooly stick the ball away. The lad showed more stell than many a player playing in the senior game. Best wishes from Mayo.

Congrats to all associated with the Tipp minor football team. What a sensational win and an absolute inspiration to all teams of any level around the country. I feel as though the media have not given this heroic run to the final and comeback victory enough attention. To beat the Dubs in Croker when they have the best part of 83,000 people backing them is just unreal. A few years ago the Ross minors did the same thing, beating Kerry after a replay to win the minor AI for the first time in over 50 years. It brought great pride back into the county after some abject years and has been the springboard for great underage development since. I wish you all the best.

My uncle and my Dad, both elderly men in their late Eighties ,and both former stellar players with J.K.Brackens were in Croker yesterday. They both witnessed the win in 1934 as well. Knocknagow alive and Kickham!!!! Congrats from all in Glenhest and Swinford.

It is very seldom that I ever comment on any other county's webpage but it'd be real bad form of me if I didn't congratulate Tipperary on your tremendous achievement. And I mean tremendous! We beat Australia on Saturday, Rory McIllroy won the US Open earlier in the year but for me, without the shadow of a doubt, the outstanding sporting achievement of this year (and many a year before it) was Tipp winning the minor AIFF on Sunday!

I'm a Limk man, and as we all well know there's no great love lost between our two counties, and that's as it should be. However, I will say your win on Sunday gave me a significant amount of pleasure, but not just for Sunday a lone. Back in the late 70's, throughout the 80's and for most of the 90's often did I happen to be at football games between Limk and Tipp, be that championship, league or McGrath Cup, and the higher % of these would be in wet, wintry conditions where you could count our supporters and yours on almost the same two hands...

But who was always there? The crowd from the Glen! I'm a small bit further into Limk than Galbally but I'd always recognise the glen crowd, and do you know what? They must surely be the best supporters of Tipp ever (in hurling as well). I'd say if Tipp were playing on the top of Everest, big ball or small ball, the Moroneys, Hanleys, Peters, Donovans, O'Sheas, Frewens, Mullins's et al (and sorry that I can't name you all) would be there. And I'm sure that there are pockets of places around Tipp like the Glen that I'm unaware of. I'm even more delighted for all the people who followed Tipp football in your bleakest darkest days than I am for the kids who did it on Sunday. They're youngsters (who probably became men on Sunday). With the help of the man in the sky that they may all have many more great years of football ahead of them. That may well come at Limk's expense. If it does, so be it!

You've turned 77 years of history and misery on its a*se! Who's to say you can't do a little bit more turning?

Sincerest congratulations!

Last Sunday was the greatest day that I have experienced in a lifetime of going to Croke Park. Tipperary hurlers have been there many times and the footballers have been there from time to time, but nothing compares to last Sunday. Tipp beat 5 good teams to get to Croke Park and IMO they beat an outstanding Dublin team last Sunday. I saw Dublin beat Cork in Portlaoise and as the Yanks would say, they were awesome. When they scored 1-7 without a reply in the first half on Sunday, I thought they were back to that standard. Tipp's second half comeback was a repeat of the Kerry game. Tipp outscored this fine Dublin team by 1-7 to 0-4 in the second half to win by a point. This was the stuff of dreams and something that I never thought that I would be privileged to see. It is heartwarming to read the messages of congratulation from all over the country. The last 4 posts on this thread were from Roscommon, Mayo, Armagh and Limerick. Armagh had their day of days in 2002 and will have them again and hopefully football people from Roscommon, Mayo and Limerick will enjoy the sort of day that we had last Sunday. One lesson from Sunday's game, was that every county should have their day in the sun and the more the honours go around the better for us all. The last 2 times that Tipp minor footballers were in the All Ireland Final (1955 and 1984) we were beaten by Dublin and Kerry beat Dublin in the Senior game. No disrespect to Kerry (the greatest football county of them all) but it was great that it was the other way round this time and that Tipp won the Minor and Dublin won the Senior.
