A point from Newry...

(Oldest Posts First)

A draw against Down in Newry was an excellent result for Tipp footballers. Hopefully they can knick a few more points to stay up.

Yes a point was very good but hope it has not come too late.A win over Donegal , Meath & Westmeath are probably what we will need to stay up.Armagh will be too strong in Cross.

They could have won it if Martin Clarke was not on form. Watch out for him this year I reckon in Ulster.

Meath game on at 12.45 Sunday before the Senior Hurling. I think we might have a chance here to nab a win. Evans has done a re-shuffle so hope thats works the trick.

good to come away with a point but we need to be getting involved much earlier in games. always leaving it late! We're good enough to survive though.

4. Paddy Codd (Killenaule)
5. Christopher Aylward (Clonmel Og)
6. Robbie Costigan (Cahir) Captain
7. Ciaran McGrath (Loughmore/Castleiney)
8. George Hannigan (Shannon Rovers)
9. Seamus Grogan (Aherlow)
10. Peter Acheson (Moyle Rovers)

12. Brian Mulvihill (Moyle Rovers)
13. Conor Sweeney (Ballyporeen)
14. Stephen Hahessy (Carrick Swan)
15. Barry Grogan (Aherlow)

solid team surprised to see seumus grogan at midfield but i heard he managed to win a few marks when he came out there against down.sweeney looks like the makings of a top player.we,ll find it tough against meath but i wouldn,t write us off.

Thought Hugh Coughlan was back from suspension. Surprised not to see him starting. I think he is one of our best players.

Great result today 1-9 to 0-10 against a strong Meath team. It has been a good couple of weeks for Tipp. Let us hope that the Under 21's can continue the good work against Limerick on Thursday night.

Yes it was a good win but a dire game to watch. We have work to do still a lot off the pace but fair play to Evans & Co.

We kicked away a lot of posession as did Meath but a win is a win.

Great to get a win a few more will do nicely.

Taking points from Donegal & Westmeath are now pivotal as a loss against Donegal will have us staring relegation in the face I think.

We need these 2 wins to secure status as this would have us on 7 surely enough to stay up.

If it comes down to the last day Armagh away is a non-runner.Its good to have finally got up & running though & hopefully we can do the needful to stay up.The lads deserve to have another crack at Div 2 with the effort over the last 2 years.

Thanks Orchard hope we can do ye a few favours along the way & knock out some competition for ye!!!

I remember 2005 being in Croker for the now afamed Tommy Murphy Cup final as the curtain raiser for Armagh v Tyrone.Tipp were playing Wexford & all the Armagh lads in the terrace behind us were shouting for Tipp. Had great laugh in the pubs afterwards with yer folk.Sound lads & lasses!

Might take an aul trip to Cross regardless!!!

Delighted with the result against Meath and I know we can win one more at least. Staying in Division Two would be some achievement. Aboy Evans!
