Winning a NHL title would be a massive boost for Galway hurling, but their manager Micheal Donoghue is taking it all in his stride.

The Tribesmen meet Tipperary in the final on Sunday, having defeated Limerick comfortably enough in the semi-final.

Tipp were made work hard against Wexford, before they closed out the game in the final ten minutes, showing their class on the way to victory.

Donoghue admitted to the Connacht Tribune that Tipperary will provide a huge test for his charges, but it is one that they are relishing.

"The league final has come upon us without too much fuss, but we knew three matches ago that there was a chance of reaching it," said Donoghue.

"This is a good opportunity against the top team in the country to see where we are at. We are going to have to match their intensity from the start as Tipp are the standard bearers at present."
