The death occurred on Sunday December 22nd 2014 in St Kieran's Nursing Home, Rathcabbin of Paddy Lambe, Ballyeiragh, Lorrha. Paddy, who was 89 years old, was a familiar figure on the roads in his jeep up to recent years. Although he hurled in his youth with the local club, he preferred to follow the game by his attendance at matches where his fondness for the game could bring him anywhere to see a match. His work as a farmer was mainly his hobby took and as a keen judge of cattle, he was well known and respected for this. He attended the marts in Birr and Portumna on a regular basis up to about two years ago, where he met and enjoyed the banter with the neighbours. Pre-deceased by his brothers John and Mick and his sister Sarah, he is survived by his wife Ann, son Willie, daughter-in-law Patricia, grandson Cathal, brother Tom (Rathcabbin), sister Maura Moran (Rathcabbin), nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is offered. After funeral Mass in St. Ruadhan's Church, Lorrha on December 24th burial took place afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
