Late Denis (Din) Ryan

The death occurred on Feb 13th last of Din Ryan Richmond, Templemore. A native of Loughmore, Din died following a series of short illnesses which he suffered in recent times.

Born in 1926, Din was well known and liked in the locality having been a publican in Loughmore Village for many years. He and Teresa and family came to live in Richmond, Templemore following his retirement from the business.

Born into a great GAA family, Din was a star player for his parish over three decades, and played both Junior and Senior football forTipperary for a number of years. The club formed a guard of honour at both Templemore and Loughmore churches as the funeral cortege arrived, with the coffin draped in club and county colours.

Din was a popular laid back guy who loved to meet people to have a chat, it was often said that you couldn't excite him even if you tried. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years, taking life easy and doing the odd bit of gardening. He loved cards, particularly the game of poker.

His remains reposed in Grey's Funeral Home where throngs of people turned up to pay their respects to an old friend. Following Requiem Mass in the church of the Sacred Templemore at which many tributes were paid to his memory, Din's remains were taken home to Loughmore for burial in the local cemetery.

Sincere sympathies are extended to his wife Teresa, Jimmy, Michael and Kevin, sister Peg, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
