Will Borris-Ileigh’s famous mascot Paddy the Cock be able to avoid the Croke Park stewards this Sunday?

“I think we are going to have trouble getting Paddy the Cock into Croke Park,” Borris-Ileigh and Tipperary star Dan McCormack said to the Irish Daily Star ahead of this weekend's showdown with Ballyhale Shamrocks.

“Whatever chance we have getting him into Croke Park there’s absolutely no chance of getting him on to the field.

“A young fella in first year inside in the school looks after him on match day, Eamonn Groome – he gets the job.

“Usually before a county final, or Munster final, or a big final they walk him out on the field with the parade and he’ll be around the place.

“I have a feeling someone is going to have to come up with some little plan and I’m sure there’s no better men in Borris-Ileigh to do it.”
