Liam Sheedy is back for a second term as Tipperary hurling manager.

He was ratified at a county board meeting tonight, eight years after he led the Premier County to All-Ireland glory.

Sheedy was chosen ahead of All-Ireland U21 winning manager Liam Cahill and former All-Ireland winning minor supremo William Maher following the resignation of Michael Ryan after Tipp's early championship exit this year.

His backroom team will be ratified at a later point.

Also tonight. Liam Kearns was given a fourth year as the county's senior football manager.
