Jack Guiney says the Wexford hurlers are starting to believe in themselves a little bit more.

Having enjoyed a superb 2017 under Davy Fitzgerald, the Model County have hit the ground running this year, claiming the Walsh Cup and defeating both Waterford and Cork in the league. Ahead of their Round Three meeting with Tipperary this weekend, Guiney told The Irish Daily Star:

"You can say that you have belief that you are going to win this, that and the other but until you start winning a few games, it doesn't really sink in.

"I think there is a bit of belief there, we're all aware that it's still February, teams are really only getting going. But as a group we're pretty happy with where we are even though it's early days.

"We heard that Kilkenny were back earlier than us, Tipperary were back earlier than us, so I think a lot of teams went back early this year to try and get a good scalp early on. Waterford were on holidays and I know Cork were one of the later teams to get back, so it will be interesting to see how we get on against the likes of Tipp, who have done a good bit of work."
