Clare intend to appeal the two-match suspension that Jamie Malone is facing following his sending-off against Tipperary last Sunday.

The Banner County player was shown a red card after an accidental collision that left Premier County selector Shane Stapleton hospitalised on Sunday night.

The Irish Daily Star is reporting that Clare will appeal the ban in a bid to have Malone available for their upcoming Division 2 games against Down and Roscommon and they have requested footage from TG4 to back this up.

Meanwhile, speaking to RTE Sport, Clare manager Colm Collins confirmed that he will also be contesting the four-week sideline ban he has been hit with following a verbal exchange with a linesman in the aftermath of Malone's dismissal.
