McDonnell, Kevin

August 19, 2009
The death occurred on July 29 of Kevin McDonnell, Highgate, London and originally from Connolly Park, Tubbercurry. Aged 62, Kevin was son of the late Tom and Margaret McDonnell.
Kevin left Tubbercurry as a young 19 year old in the mid 60s and spent most of his life thereafter in London. Prior to leaving Tubbercurry, Kevin was a very promising young footballer with the Tubbercurry GAA club in the early/mid 60s and older GAA club members were not surprised when his nephews Paul and Tony Taylor, Alan Henry and Ken Killeen burst onto the GAA scene in later years. Obviously the talent was in the genes.
Kevin's remains reposed in the Morahan funeral home and were received into the Church of John the Evangelist on Sunday August 9. Burial took place that day in Rhue cemetery. Kevin is survived by his son and grandchildren, sisters Mary Killeen, Ballyara, Kathleen Henry, Mountain View, Margaret Taylor and Eileen Johnston, Gurteen, nephews, nieces and extended relations. May he rest in peace.
