Offaly manager John Maughan believes that his charges will have to show a marked improvement in the next round of the qualifiers.

Despite defeating London by ten points at O’Connor Park last Saturday, there were aspects of the game that didn’t please the former Mayo manager.

The Faithful County will now face Sligo in the next round and Maughan is adamant that they need to reproduce the form they showed against Meath if they are to progress further.

“I’m happy that we won by ten points but you wouldn’t be happy with the performance, it was very fragmented,” Maughan told the Midland Tribune.

“It was nothing like we played a month ago, the performance against Meath was a lot slicker.”
