Sligo manager Paul Taylor admits there were little or no positives to take from their defeat to Carlow.

Hopes of a good start to the NFL 3 campaign were dashed last Sunday as Carlow ran out comfortable winners at Markievicz Park.

This was certainly not the start that the new Sligo manager wanted as he admitted to the Sligo Champion that his side were outplayed all over the park.

“We are very, very, very disappointed with the display,” said Taylor. “We didn’t play in the game at all to be really honest.

“But you know Carlow slowed the game down and they are a good defensive side, they are a physical side but we prepared for all that but we didn’t deal with it at all when we went on the field.”

He added: “The only positive that we are taking out of the game is that it’s over. Look, we have another game in seven days and we have to prepare and get ready for that and you know we said we would take each game as it comes but performance levels like that won’t get us anywhere.”
