Talk of rules changes and second tier football championships dominated the GAA Twitterverse over the weekend along with provincial club football action...

Kilmacud Crokes membership is around 4,800, Mullinalaghta's is 155. The contrast on that basis alone for a provincial final is unique.

What a result. Leinster final awaits. What an occasion it will be for such a small parish in Longford v Kilmacud Croke’s. Well capable of beating them too. Super stuff!! https://t.co/iGRlU0yBhs

What is the underlying reason for calls to change the championship structure and alter the playing rules of football #GAA 🤔 The club championship with current rules has never been more exciting......
— John Heslin (@jheslin14) November 25, 2018
Ah I reckon we can just use an honesty policy - the attacking team call the mark and then the defender will dutifully concede it! Like when we had no crossbar in primary school games, what could possibly go wrong?!
— Paul Begley (@paulgbegley) November 25, 2018
I honestly think whatever rules introduced won’t change teams setting up defensively. That system will be flushed out though. I’d be worried for 3 handpasses and puzzled why the mark can’t be given from a kick outside 45 but lets see. At least we can bin what doesn’t work #gaa

Do referees have a voice in the rule changes? https://t.co/wQcr1oni4P

Second tier championships and changing the rules! That’s the answer given to make our games better and seemingly more attractive? Who are these people making these calls? It could only be Irish! 😓

Tweetthree handpasses is all your allowed and no backward sidelines... your screwed 😂🤣 @CKKilkenny93
