The Late Patrick Joseph (P.J.) Coyle
The death took place at Beaumount Hospital, Dublin of Mr Patrick Joseph (P.J.) Coyle, Lysterfield, Curraghboy. Aged 65, he was a native of Curlea, Curraghboy, and his passing after a short illness has come as a great shock to his family, many friends and acquaintances.
Deceased was a progressive drystock farmer who kept abreast of modern farming practices and trends. A devoted husband and father, he performed many neighbourly deeds and kind acts in the course of his life with typical self-effacement. A lover of all sports, he was a playing member of the St Brigid's GAA Club throughout the sixties and up until the mid seventies and he also served on the Club Executives for a time period.
He was also an accomplished car player who enjoyed the weekly games in Curraghboy, Cam and Dysart. He was a member also of the Curraghmore PTAA Centre for 49 years and would have been receiving his golden jubilee PTAA pin next year.
He is survived by his wife, Nora (nee Booth, Newbridge, County Galway) sons, Bernard, Lysterfield and daughter Lenore, Maynooth. He is survived by brothers Michael, Braintree, Boston; Bernard, Brighton, Boston and Jimmy Brighton Boston and sisters Mrs Nancy O'Brien, Newton, Boston; Mrs Elizabeth Casey, Kilashee, Lanesboro; Mrs Margaret Quinn, Brighton Boston; Mrs Nuala O'Sullivan, Milton, Mass; Mrs Kathleen Ryan, Racecourse Road, Roscommon.
Following Concelebrated Mass at St Brigid's Church, Curraghboy which took place to Cam Cemetery. The principal celebrant of the Mass was Rev. Hugh Lee, CC, Curraghboy. The other celebrants were Very Rev. John Cullen, PP, Kiltoom and Cam, Right Rev Mons Charles Travers, CC, Roscommon and Rev Leo Sweeney, Ballaghaderreen.
