Hynes, Danny
October 30, 2007
The parish of Tulsk was deeply shocked and saddened following the untimely death of Mr Danny Hynes of Shroove, Tulsk. News of the deceased's passing, following an accident, was met with deep shock throughout the locality. The late Danny Hynes was a universally well-liked and highly regarded young man, whose sense of humour and friendly manner made a deep and lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of meeting and knowing him.
Danny was just 23 and had spent the last two years totally dedicated to Lord Edwards GAA Club, never missing a training session come rain or shine. He was a regular on the junior team playing either wing or corner-forward. He played a cracker of a game for the team only a couple of short weeks before his death against Kilglass, scoring 1-1 in a must win game. In his time with the club he made a great impact, always brightening up the dullest of winter training evenings with his quick wit and good humour.
You were always sure to have a bit of crack when the Hynes brothers would arrive. he was a true player, never taking it too seriously, but enough to enjoy the game and the fun that surrounds it. Following the removal of his remains from his family home, Funeral Mass took place in St.'s Eithne and Fidelma Church, Tulsk, followed by burial in the local cemetery. The huge attendance of mourners at the Funeral Mass illustrated the very high regard both the deceased and his family are held in throughout the community. A keen footballer, members of Tulsk GAA club performed a guard of honour following funeral Mass in Tulsk.
To his parents Padraig and Margaret, brothers Sean and Alan, sister Ashling, his many relatives, in-laws and a wide circle of friends all parishioners wish to extend their sincere and heartfelt sympathies to the Hynes family on their untimely and sad loss.
