The Late Vin Golden The death was announced of Vin Golden on Tuesday January 14 in Worthing East Sussex. He was widely known in London GAA circles and also a Life President of the Garryowen Gaelic Football Club. A native of Ballaghadereen Co. Roscommon, Vin celebrated his 80th birthday last February, Last November he and his wife, Iris, were joined by many of their friends on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Affectionately known in GAA circles as Mr Garryown he held the position of Chairman of the Club for almost 30 years and led the Club to many honours during his long term of office. Vin was a founder member of the Club in 1948 and remained a staunch and loyal follower of the Club right up to his death. A footballer of considerable talent he will be remembered by many as the Club's County Board delegate and as selector of the London team, for a number of years. Vin will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and the many friends who have had the privilege of knowing him over so many years.
