Kenny, Peader

The Late Peader Kenny The death took place at the County Hospital Roscommon of Mr Peader Kenny, Stonepark, Rosommon and formerly of Glinsk. Aged 68, he was a native of Whitepark, Curraghboy and was a member of a family synonymous with the St. Brigid's GAA Club. The deceased had farmed in Glinsk for almost all his working life. He was a lifelong member of the PTAA and an active member of the Glinsk Centre for some years. He was a noted handballer in his youth in Curraghboy and also played Club football with the St Brigid's GAA Club. He was a devoted husband and father, and throughout his life, he performed many neighbourly deeds and kind acts with typical self effacement. He is survived by his wife, Philomena, (nee Reynolds, Stonepark) and sons, Martin, Glinsk, Desmond, Germany; Paul, Dublin, Oliver Dublin an Austin , UCD. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank, Stonepark, Roscommon, the current President of the St Bridgid's GAA Club; Michael, Whitepark, Curraghboy and Pat, Dundalk. As a mark of respect to the Kenny family a minute's silence was observed at the St Brigid's versus Roscommon Gaels championship quarter final clash at Hyde Park and the St Brigid's Intermediate fixture scheduled for Sunday was cancelled as a mark of respect. Following 11am on Sunday at the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon the funeral took place to St Coman's cemetery. Courtesy of the Roscommon Herald 24th August 2005
