The Late Tom Tumulty The death took place of Mr Tom Tumulty, Tanvey, Ballydangan, who was one of the best known senior citizens resident in Moore Parish. Aged 86, he was associated with a wide range of community activities in his residential catchment and was devoted to his immediate and extended family. A hard working and conscientious farmer, he was a member of the Moore IFA branch and was also involved with the Moore Fine Gael branch for many years. He was a lifelong member of the PTAA and had the distinction of receiving the golden jubilee PTAA pin in the past decade. He took a keen interest in Gaelic games all his life and was associated with the setting up a GAA Club in Moore in the deceased past which was a forerunner to the Padraig Pearses GAA Club. He also enjoyed card playing for relaxation and had attended the weekly games in Moore Community Hall on a regular basis over the years. A deeply religious person, he supported all community and Church linked activities and had been a daily Mass goer for some time. He is survived by his wife, Nell (nee Kenny, Clonfad) and daughters Mary, Creagh and Kathleen, Tanvey. He is also survived by one brother, Pat, Boston and a number of other relatives. Following Concelebrated mass at St Mary's Church, Moore the funeral Mass took place to Kilbegley Cemetery. Members of the Moore PTAA, Moore IFA branch and Fine Gael personnel in South Roscommon formed a guard of honour outside St Mary's Church to coincide with the arrival of the remains at the Church.
