Connolly not happy yet

Roscommon forward Cian Connolly has stressed that they are not just going to settle for a Connacht SFC title this year.

The Rossies lifted provincial honours last month when they produced an excellent display to defeat defending champions Galway in the decider.

There were great scenes of jubilation following that win, but Connolly stressed to the Roscommon Herald that they soon turned their attentions to the quarterfinal.

That game is now upon them as Mayo will provide the opposition at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon and Connolly is determined to help the team go further.

"I think everyone is looking forward to an All-Ireland quarterfinal, an All-Ireland semi-final, and see where we can go from there," said Connolly.

"Definitely, nobody is happy with just a Connacht title. It was one of our main goals for the year but it wasn't our ultimate goal. There's a great buzz around the place, there's a great atmosphere and now we're preparing for the All-Ireland series and the national stage up in Croke Park. When you're young that's what you dream of playing in."
