All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers Round 4A

Clare v Roscommon, Pearse Stadium, Salthill, 3pm

After having their Connacht dreams derailed last Sunday, Roscommon will look to get back on the road to recovery this weekend when they take on Clare in Salthill.

The Rossies will have to make the best of a six-day turn around after being torn apart by Galway, as they head into a high stakes clash with the Banner men as hot favourites to advance into an All-Ireland SFC quarter-final for the first time. Their opponents are also chasing a first ever berth in last eight, coming off the back of a ruthless second-half display against Sligo last Saturday at Markievicz Park, where they outscored the hosts by 1-13 to 1-4.

Roscommon's league form had suggested that the could be set for a deep run in the race for Sam Maguire this summer, but they can't afford any more hiccups tomorrow and will need to have the likes of Ciaran Murtagh and Senan Kilbride firing on all cylinders, whilst keeping David Tubridy and Eoin Cleary quiet at the other end.

Verdict: Roscommon

Derry v Tipperary, Breffni Park, Cavan, 5pm

Derry's season was well and truly resurrected after wearing down Cavan in last weekend's battle at Breffni Park and tomorrow sees them returning to the same venue trying to end Tipperary's season.

The Oak Leafers are looking for their fourth win on the trot since the Ulster SFC defeat to Tyrone back in May and the bookies are fancying them to do exactly that (priced at 1/2) when they clash with Tipp in Cavan town. Ace attacker Mark Lynch was in fine form there the last day and manager Damian Barton got a huge contribution from his bench, including 0-3 from Niall Toner, to see out the 1-17 to 0-18 win over the Breffni County.

Liam Kearns' side are priced at 11/5 to cause an upset and some will fancy that given their upset of Cork last month before falling flat to Kerry in the Munster final. If they are to cut it down to two remaining Ulster sides in the championship, then expect Michael Quinlivan and Kevin O'Halloran to give salient contributions.

Verdict: Derry
