Late Mr Sean Flynn

The death occurred at Tallaght Hospital, Dublin last week of Mr Sean Flynn, Hillcrest, Lucan, County Dublin and formerly of Alderford, Ballyfarnon. News of his untimely death was heard of with profound shock and deep regret in his native area. A member of a highly respected Ballyfarnon family, Sean was an outstanding member of St. Ronan's GAA Club, having played at all levels for his club. While living in Lucan he continued to take a deep interest in all St. Ronan's activities and was an avid supporter of the club and of Roscommon GAA. His remains were removed from his home to St. Patrick's Church Lucan on Saturday morning for Requiem Mass. Following Mass interment took place in Esker Cemetery. Members from St. Ronan's GAA Club joined with members from Lucan Sarsfields GAA to form Guards of Honour as the cortege proceeded from his home to the church. The vast numbers from the area who travelled to Lucan over three days to pay their respects bore ample testimony to the esteem in which he was held. Sean is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Noel; daughter, Marian; brothers, Stephen and Benny; sister, Kathleen; by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
