Mr Michael Doolan, the Derries, Bonnavalley, Athlone, who died suddenly on Thursday week last, was brother of Mrs Rose Nolan, the Faythe, Barrymore, Kiltoom; Mrs Ann Donnelly, Cullawinna, Four Roads and Mrs Catherine O'Neill, Glanduff, St John's Aged 54, he was an esteemed member of the local community and was respected in his residential catchment for his devotion to his family and his capacity for hard work. he was a progressive dairy farmer who took a keen interest in all farming affairs and performed many charitable deeds and kind acts with typical self-effacement.
He was also a lover of all sport and he played Gaelic football with the Garrycastle GAA Club for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Teresa (nee McCallum, Garrycastle); son Shane, Dublin and daughters, Lisa, Dublin and Aisling, Galway and Hazel, the Derries.
He is survived by his mother, Bridie; brothers, Paddy, Castledaly; John, Naas; James, Dublin; Hugh, the Derries and Brian, the Derries and sisters, Mrs Ann Donnelly, Cullawinna, Four Roads; Mrs Bridie Delaney, Bray, Mrs Rose Nolan, the Faythe, Barrymore, Kiltoom and Mrs Catherine O'Neill, Glanduff, St John's. Following Mass of the Resurrection at St Mary's Church, Athlone on Monday the funeral took place to Coosan cemetery.
