Late Mr Tom Murray

The death took place at University College Hospital, Galway, of Mr Tom Murray, Culliagh, Ballinasloe, County Roscommon. Aged 84, he was a progressive dairy farmer who took a keen interest in all farming affairs and was an active member of the NFA and IFA over the decades. He was devoted to his immediate and extended family and performed many neighbourly deeds and kind acts in the course of his life. A lover of all sport, especially Gaelic games, he played both Gaelic Football and handball in his youth. He is survived by his wife, Nan (nee Madden, Clonulty); sons, Patrick, Culliagh; Thomas, Culliagh and Paul, Melbourne, Austrailia and daughters, Ann, Belfast; Claire, New York and Marian, New York. The eldest of a family of ten, he is also survived by brothers, denis and Bob and sisters, Joan, Jo, Betty, Gabrielle and Ann. Following con-celebrated Mass at the church of our Lady of the Rosary, Cloonfad on Saturday week the funeral took place to Kilbegley Cemetery. The celebrants of the Mass were Very Rev. Michael Molloy, PP, Moore; Rev. Sean Kilbane, CC, Cloonfad; Rev. Brendan Murray, a cousin of the deceased; Right Rev. Mons Sean Killeen, retired Ballinasloe and Rev. Sean McHugh, Spiddal.
