The late John Murray The death took place suddenly on Friday week last at his residence of Mr John Murray, Cranberry, Ballydangan. Aged 75, he was a retired farmer and had been an employee of Guinness in both Dublin and Galway for 22 years. Of a friendly and caring disposition, he was devoted to his family and, throughout his life, he performed many neighbourly deeds and kind acts. He was a lover of Gaelic games and had been an active member of the Padraig Pearses GAA club over the decades. Predeceased by his son, Evin, he is survived by his wife, Mai (nee Lynch, Cavan), sons, Ciaran, Switzerland, Niall, Dublin and Sean, Roscommon and daughters, Cora, Dublin, Ruth, Dublin and Camilla, Mullingar. He is also survived by brothers, Peter, Dublin and Pat, Beagh, Ballinasloe and sisters, Galway; Mrs Bridget Scott, Rathpeak; Mrs Ann Costello, Ballinasloe, Mrs Emily McNeill, Ballinasloe; Margaret, Birmingham and Mrs Marcella Heavey, Castlerea; two grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Following Concelebrated Mass at St Mary's Church, Moore, on Wednesday the burial took place in Moore new cemetery. The celebrants of the Mass were Dr Joseph Cassidy PP, Moore; Rev. Sean Kilbane, CC, Cloonfad; Rev. Michael Irwin, Dublin; Rev. Brendan Dunning, Caregalway and Rev. John Garvey, Ballinasloe Roscommon Herald, 13th May 2008
