Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham believes that there will be many twists and turns in the FL2 campaign.

The Rossies picked up their first win in the league when they defeated Clare at Dr Hyde Park last Sunday; to go with the draw and loss from their opening two games.

No team has maximum points in the division and Cunningham told the Clare Champion that the division may not be sorted until the last round of games are completed.

“Every match is not going to be straightforward. When you see the matches and the table, there’s nothing between top and bottom,” pointed out Cunningham.

“They’re going to be very close matches, so you’ve got to be prepared to be composed on the pitch. I thought it was very controlled in the first half (against Clare).”

He added: “There’s still a lot of improvement there and that’s the plus in the league. When you’re playing every Sunday, you have points to work on. But to get a win is a huge boost and we can look forward to a massive match against Kildare now on Sunday week.”

The Allianz Hurling League returns this weekend, make sure you join the hoganstand.com match tracker for live scores from the third round of games.
