Sligo U20 manager Dessie Sloyan believes his charges are ready for the task ahead of them as they prepare to face Roscommon in the Connacht football championship semi-final.

Markievicz Park will host the clash between the sides on Saturday at 2pm and the former county footballer is quietly confident that the Yeats County can reach a provincial final.

“Things are shaping up nicely, the lads are fit and ready to go. Everyone is just really looking forward at this stage,” Sloyan told the Sligo Champion.

On Roscommon he said: “I’m not too familiar with them but in saying that this group of players reached the All-Ireland final at minor level so they are a decent outfit. I suppose with this short time-frame for games, our focus has been on our own game really.”
