Cunningham demands performance

Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham is in no doubt that anything bar a good performance will not be good enough to beat Leitrim in Sunday’s Connacht SFC clash at Dr Hyde Park.

The sides meet in the provincial quarterfinal and Roscommon go in as strong favourites even though Leitrim are in a rich vein of form.

Cunningham acknowledged their form when speaking to the Leitrim Observer and the former Galway hurling manager is adamant that his charges will have to be at their best.

“You can forewarn and forearm everybody but our players have got to do it on the day,” stressed Cunningham.

“They have got to be better than Leitrim and Leitrim will come with all guns blazing and they will want to kick on from their league.”
