The feedback from the Children and Schools has been very positive.

Roscommon-Longford Garda Youth Awards
The Roscommon-Longford Garda Division, in association with Longford County Council, are delighted to announce the first Roscommon-Longford Garda Youth Awards.
The awards celebrate outstanding young people between the ages of 13 and 21 years. Roscommon-Longford Gardai, along with Longford County Council, recognise that a lot of good work is being done by young people in every community throughout both counties which should be rewarded.
Awards will be considered for nominated young people, who by their presence make their communities a better place to live. There will be one overall winner of the Roscommon-Longford Garda Youth Awards for 2019, one Voluntary Group Achievement Award, which is open to nominations for two or more young people whose combined efforts have contributed positively to their communities and one Community Safety Award, which recognises an individual or group who has made their community a safer place to live in. There will be one Special Achievement Award, which is open to any young person who has defied the odds, or overcome difficult circumstances and whose commitment deserves recognition.
The judging panel will decide upon a nominee in each category who will go forward to represent the Division at the National Garda Youth Awards at a ceremony in the Garda Síochána College at the end of April 2019.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could circulate the attached nomination form to relevant persons/organisations/groups under your responsibility, where applicable.
Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Angela at 071-9638002 or 087-7955098.

DON’T FORGET TO SHOP LOCAL THIS CHRISTMAS
The Christmas period is a crucial time for businesses. Please try where you can to support your local businesses and shop local. We would like to thank all who have contributed during the year to our club. It is your help that keeps the club going so strong. We received generous financial support for our Development Launch and and we would encourage you all to support our sponsors. These sponsors provide employment; they give back to the community, from sponsoring teams, sponsoring our fundraising efforts and we appreciate their ongoing support. They offer personalised customer service you can’t get online. They are run by your family members, friends, neighbours and most importantly our members. Before you make that purchase, ask yourself "could I buy locally from a small business and if the answer is YES then why not invest in your local community?
Underage Presentation Night
A wonderful night was had by all at our Underage Presentation night on Friday 14th December. The main event of the evening was the presentation of the medals which was done by Dublin All Star James McCarthy. James told the large attendance that it was a honour to present the medals. He offered the players some great advice and posed for endless photographs with all the players, committee, supporters and guests.
We would like to thank Edward Donnellan from Donnellan & Co Menswear for presenting the U16 Div 2 County football champions with 3/4 zip tops. Thank you Edward for your continued support, and to all our sponsors and supporters who have helped us out over the year.
All in all in was a fantastic night that was enjoyed by all. Once again we would like to thank all our teams, mentors, members and supporters who attended. James McCarthy for presenting the medals. A special mention must go to Seamus Carthy & Finbar O'Reilly who organised this event and ensured it was a huge success.
