All-Ireland final referees Barry Kelly, Brian Gavin, Diarmuid Kirwan and Marty Duffy were honoured for their contribution to refereeing at the National Referees' Awards in Croke Park last night.
They were among a 13-strong list of match officials who retired from inter-county refereeing this year. The other retiring referees honoured were Kevin McGeeney, Christopher Browne, Tony Carroll, Liam McAuley, Shaun McLaughlin, Shane Hehir, Alan Nash, Fergal Barry and Kevin Murphy.
A notable absentee from the list was James McGrath who walked away from inter-county refereeing after being overlooked for this year's All-Ireland hurling final between Limerick and Galway.
