Roscommon’s Ultan Harney admits winning a county title with his club is beyond his wildest dreams.

Not only did Clann na nGael win this year’s Roscommon SFC final, but they defeated neighbours and holders St Brigid’s convincingly to take the title.

The county star played a pivotal role in the success and he admitted to the Westmeath Independent that it is still sinking in.

“Someone just asked me had we dreamed of winning by that much - I just dreamt of winning, bringing it home. You don’t care what it is (the margin of victory), but it just makes it all the more sweeter,” stated Harney.

“We haven’t played well since April to be honest - things just clicked and went our way. Brigid’s having a man go off made an awful difference.”
