Roscommon coach Liam McHale admits that it has not been easy preparing the side for their 'dead rubber' Super 8's clash against Dublin.
The Dubs are already assured of top spot in the group and their place in the All-Ireland SFC semi-final, while for Roscommon, their interest in this year's championship came to an end when Donegal defeated them in the second round.
With nothing to play for but pride, it can be difficult to build momentum ahead of the match and McHale admitted to the Roscommon Herald that is the case for them.
"It's a strange situation to be in," said McHale. "It has been difficult, there's no question about it, but this is not like playing a meaningless club match where you're playing in front of 50 people and nobody really gives a damn.
"There's going to be a big crowd there, there's an All-Ireland U20 final on beforehand and it's an opportunity for our lads to showcase what talents they've got. Maybe we can end the season on a high because we've had a difficult month, and if the lads can feel good about themselves when they reflect on the season and identify what they need to improve on for the coming season, that's a positive."
