Ballycumber GAA Club notes

August 11, 2020

Due to the local lockdown because of Covid19 Coronavirus, all GAA activity is curtailed. Training is restricted to non contact with groups of fifteen and all guidelines must be adhered to. The Senior B Football Championship match v Ferbane which was due to be played in Tubber on Friday evening was cancelled, as was the Junior B Championship meeting with Clonmore Harps in Ballycumber on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Tubber v Erin Rovers Senior B Football championship game which was due to be played in Ballycumber on Saturday was also postponed. Hopefully the weather will be similar to Saturdays whenever the game is rescheduled. The under 17 Championship match, St Manchan Gaels v Tullamore which was due to be played on Saturday morning, will have to be rearranged as will the under 15 game v Ballinamere Durrow which was called off on Thursday.

The only game to survive was the under 13 C game, St Manchan Gaels v Tullamore which Tullamore won on Wednesday evening.

Lotto.

The numbers drawn were 5,8,10,25. One jackpot winner, three match three winners.

Next week’s draw will be held in Gussies on Monday evening for a jackpot of 2000euros.

Congratulations to Leona Creevy who won the Lotto jackpot this week.

The weekly lotto is the only source of income available to the Club in the present circumstances. Lotto tickets are on sale in Gussies Supermarket and from usual lotto sellers and on line with Clubforce on https://www.locallotto.ie/localhome.asp?LL_ID=415

Jerseys.

St Manchan Gaels new sets of jerseys have arrived from O’Neills Sports and were presented to representatives of the Under 13 teams in Doon and to the Under 15 and 17 players in Pullough during the past week by Claire Connelly in recognition of the work put in to the design of the jerseys by Conor.

Message from Fr. Brendan O’Sullivan, PP Ballinahown.

Dear Parishioners.

I make this announcement due to current situation. There will be no Mass in Boher or Pullough for the next few weeks until further notice. Its important to keep in mind the important role we all have to play in keeping each other safe and well. Please be assured of my prayer and know that any Masses booked will be said privately by me for the intentions. I assure you of my continued care and prayer as we continue to journey together through these challenging times. Thank you for your support and prayer for me.

Churches will remain open as a space for private prayer.

Kind Regards and Blessings.

Fr. Brendan.
