Ballycumber club notes

April 06, 2020

Despite the restrictions imposed to try to prevent the spread of the COVID 19 Coronavirus, the neighbours and friends of Conor Connelly came out in force on Wednesday morning. As the funeral cortege made its way to Boher Church, men, women and children stood outside their houses and at safe locations to show their respect for Conor and their support for his family. At all times the guidelines regarding social and physical distancing were adhered to.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr Brendan O’Sullivan PP, with only close family members of the Connelly and Quinn families present and the burial was also held in private.

Respect for Conor.

An idea to display yellow and blue flags in respect for Conor was quickly embraced. Flags were placed on display all around the area and throughout County Roscommon and beyond.

Many tributes have been paid to Conor since he passed away and many of them by former playing colleagues and friends were recorded by Aidan AR Raftery on www.rosfm.ie/live.

Ballycumber GAA Club Chairman Vincent Minnock and Vice Chairman Diarmuid Daly paid glowing tributes to their friend on this programme.
