There was much regret at the death of Bernard Rochford of Emmet St on Friday December 14. Bernard, formerly of Durrow in Offaly, was a long term member of the community in Mountmellick and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. A member of the farming community Bernard had served on the board of Glanbia. A keen GAA player and supporter, Bernard was president of Mountmellick GAA.

Remains reposed at his residence until removal on Saturday evening to St Joseph's Church. Requiem Mass was celebrated at 1.30pm on Sunday with burial afterwards to St Joseph's cemetery Guards of honour were provided by Glanbia and Mountmellick GAA Club.

The sincere sympathy of the community is extended to Bernard's wife Maureen, his children Ray Helen, Gerard, Catherine, Feargal, Mary and Bernardine, family, relatives, friends and neighbours on their bereavement.
