Féile weekend
Last weekend Tullamore participated in Division 4 of this years Feile hosted by Laois/Offaly.We hosted Castlehaven GAA Club from Co. Cork. 26 players from Castlehaven stayed on the Friday and Saturday nights with the host families from the club. Tullamore had three games to play in their group, which consisted of Tullamore, Castlehaven (Cork), Rosemount (Westmeath) and Tubbercurry (Sligo). The first round of games were played on Friday evening. Tullamore played Castlehaven in O'Connor Park at 3pm. The Tullamore boys worked very hard throughout the game and played some nice passages of football but unfortunately goals were to be the difference in the end. Final score Castlehaven 4-3 Tullamore 1-6. Following the opening games of the group, Castlehaven and Rosemount looked very strong to progress. Tullamore however got back on track on Saturday morning with a decisive win over Tubbercurry. They trailed at half time but a very impressive second half performance by all saw then win on a score line of 3-6 to 1-2. In the third round of games, Tullamore were up against Rosemount. This was to be the deciding game to see who would qualify for a semi final spot. Tullamore had to win to progress while Rosemount just needed a draw. The opening half was a tight contest. Rosemount were ahead by a single point at half time, 2 points to 1. In the opening seconds of the second half Cian Brennan who had just come off the bench, scored a super goal and to give Tullamore a 2 point lead. Conor Butler extended Tullamore's lead to three minutes later. Rosemount responded with 2 of their own to leave 1 in it going in to the final minutes of the game. As Rosemount just needed the point to go through, the Tullamore backline worked tiresly and defended heroically throughout as Rosemount put on pressure but the blues held on to win. There were great sense of achievement after Tullamore had topped the group to progress to the semi finals in Portarlington that evening. Great credit to all players whom played with true grit and determination to get this result, this was a great outcome for the entire panel and the management team of Ken Furlong, Mervyn Griffin, John Berry and Gerry Fagan. Unfortunately, the semi final proved a step too far for Tullamore whom were beaten by a very strong Killoe Óg team from Longford. Well done to all concerned who really did Tullamore very proud. The Club would like to thank all the panel and management for the work put in for this years Feile. Tullamore Panel:

We would also like to thank the host families for looking after the 26 Castlehaven players for the weekend. The work put in by the families is really appreciated. From the feedback received from Castlehaven Club, all players thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Tullamore and we are sure that our Under 14 players enjoyed the occasion. We would like to thank the members whom helped in any way with the running of this successful event in Tullamore. Special mention to Gerry Conway who never left O'Brien Park all weekend. Finally thanks to all our supporters who cheered on our young Blues!

In the Skills Competition, Cathal Maguire from Castlehaven won the skills competition semi final in Tullamore. Cian Brennan represented Tullamore doing very well. Cathal went to the finals in Portlaoise and came 3rd place in the Division 4 final. Well done to Cathal who was staying in Paul Conlons house for the weekend!
