Rhode Senior Managerial Appointment  

Chairman John Kilmurray can confirm that the executive committee of Rhode GAA on Friday night last  accepted the proposal  of Malachy McNulty as Rhode Senior Football Manager following a recommendation from the management selection committee.   

131st AGM

The 131st AGM of Rhode GAA Club will take place this coming Friday the 6th of December in Rhode GAA Hall at 8pm Sharp. All Members and Intending Members are requested to attend.

Please Note that members would have received their notifications in post. 

.The AGM is an important part of the Clubs calendar where all aspects of the clubs 2019 activities will be up for discussion. All attending the meeting will be requested to sign on arrival with club registrar Ger Noonan and membership for 2020 will be taken on the night and we would request members to do so.  

 

Rhode U'13 County Football Champions Presentation  

To celebrate Rhode U'13 Footballers winning the U'13 A County Championship  we are delighted to announce the Presentation of Medals will take place this coming Sunday 8th of December in Rhode Community Centre (across from terrace) . Player's, Management & Parents will sit down to dinner at 4pm. Following that  all family, friends and supporters are invited to  attend at 5pm  for the medal presentation and celebrate the wonderful achievements of these young stars and enjoy a cup of tea. 

 

Lighting of Rhode Christmas Tree 

This  Sunday December the 8th the Christmas Tree lights will be turned on in the village. Music from 5:30pm with Santy at 6:30pm  

All are welcome !!

 

 

Rhode GAA Christmas Draw 2019

We are delighted to announce we will be holding a Christmas Draw which will be held on Saturday 21st of December in Killeen's Croghan Lounge. 

 

Tickets have been  distributed and available in all local businesses in the Village @ €2 a line or Full card €20 

 

 

All Cards to be back in to Shaz Hair Salon at 5pm on Saturday December 21st. Draw cannot take place till ticket's are in.

Rhode GAA Supporters Draw 5 

The Final supporters draw for 2019  will take place on December 21st . 

 

 

Lotto

 

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 25th of November for a Jackpot of €7,800.  The numbers drawn were 24 25 28 30.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Killeens for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €50 each.

Rhode GAA express our Deepest Sympathy to the Leavy Family on the  Passing of Paudge Leavy . 

 .

Paudge will be sadly missed by all who knew him especially, deeply regretted by his loving  wife Mary, sadly missed by his loving family sons & Daughters Teresa, Tom. Brendan, Ger, Mary Pat & Danny grand-children , brother John,brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, daughters- in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends

 

Rhode has lost one of its greatest Characters in Paudge Leavy.  Paudge enjoyed life to the fullest enthralling many with his stories and humour over a few pints. Paudge was also an avid gardener where he grew spuds and Veg in which he took great pride in.  Both Paudge and Mary were avid followers of the Rhode football teams down through the years and this passion followed onto all their children who are all wonderful supporters of the club and our teams. Pat, Tom . Brendan Ger & Danny all played for the club at under-age and Adult Level. In those Years Pat served on the club committee, Danny Served as assistant Secretary and Brendan went on to serve as Vice Chairman. It was always a pleasure to Visit Paudge and Mary with the Dowling Cup over the years and a great welcome was always given by them both but most especially Paudge who would have us in stitches. Memories like those should never be forgotten

Paudges Funeral Mass took place on Thursday afternoon last in St.Peters Church Rhode followed by burial to the adjoining cemetery
