St Rynagh's and Birr will do battle for the Sean Robbins Cup in a fortnight's time after coming through their semi-finals at the weekend.

Managed by former Tipperary goalkeeper Ken Hogan, St Rynagh's edged out Belmont by 0-14 to 0-12 in horrendous conditions at St Brendan's Park on Saturday. Late frees from Aidan Treacy and a pair of points form substitute Stephen Quirke proved crucial for the Banagher men, who had goalkeeper Conor Clancy to thank after he produced a string of brilliant saves.

Offaly goalkeeper Eoghan Cahill, who lined out in attack, also played a starring role as Barry Whelahan's side saw off Kilcormac/Killoughey by 0-20 to 0-16 in the other semi-final at Bord na Mona O'Connor Park yesterday. Cahill posted 0-13, including 0-6 from play, as the four-time All-Ireland club champions reached another final.
